Meet our Brothers

Br. Patrick
Br. Patrick
Brother Patrick Napal, C.J.D. is from Davao, Philippines. He has a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Francis Xavier Seminary in the Philippines. He spent his year of novitiate (2011) in Vladivostok, then spent a year doing vocation talks in schools in the Philippines. Br. Patrick is especially gifted with languages as he speaks English, Tagalog, and Italian. Plus, everyone at the parish in Vladivostok was surprised at how quickly he was able to speak and understand Russian.
Br. Patrick is a great cook and while in Vladivostok, became everyone’s favorite pastry chef. He also won many hearts during his year in Russia. As a regular visitor to the orphanage, he quickly became a favorite with the children. “At first the kids were afraid of me” he says, “but love conquers all.” At the hospice facility, he was known for his helpfulness and gentle ways with the patients. According to Fr. Myron, Br. Patrick always has a human touch for whomever he meets, not excluding even the neighborhood dogs and cats.”
On March 8, 2014, Brother Patrick took his final vows. After his ordination to the priesthood, he plans to serve as a priest in Russia.

Br. Patrick
Br. Arnulfo Undona, CJD, is also from Davao, Philippines. He has a Bachelor’s degree in the Filipino language from the College of Toril. There, he also served as Student Council president and placed 2nd in an intercollegiate math competition.
During his stay in Vladivostok (2010-2011), it became apparent that he especially enjoyed doing sacristy work. He loves to spend time in prayer and was often the first one in the church in the morning.
Br. Arnulfo has extensive experience working among cancer patients, so he is especially good with those who are sick. Before coming to us, he had also worked for 3 years as a volunteer in Jamaica with the Missionaries of the Poor.
He is also a terrific cook and served up some of his special creations during his stay in Vladivostok. At present, he is enrolled in Theology at Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay, Philippines.
He plans to take his final vows on August 15, 2014, the Feast of the Assumption. Br. Arnulfo speaks Tagalog, Russian, and English.

Br. Edwin
Br. Edwin

Brother Edwin Intan, C.J.D. comes to us from Cebu, Philippines. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy from San Carlos University, Cebu, Philippines. He is one of four children, but lost both parents in an automobile accident when he was very young. So, although he wanted to be a priest since childhood, he delayed his vocation in order to help his siblings. Meanwhile, he worked for 10 years as a factory foreman and translator. He speaks not only Tagalog and Cebuano, but also Korean, Japanese, Russian, and English.
During his year in Vladivostok (2011-2012), it became clear that his maturity, 10 years of work experience, and natural talents had formed him into a very good leader. He should be an excellent pastor one day. While studying at the university in Vladivostok, Br. Edwin made a number of friends among the Chinese students. As it turned out, he was a great evangelizer, telling them about Christianity and the love of God.
Currently, Br. Edwin is studying Theology at the Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay, Philippines. He took his first vows with the Canons Regular of Jesus the Lord on December 8, 2012. He plans to serve as a priest in Russia following his ordination.

Br. Harben
Br. Harben
Brother Harben Forte, C.J.D. is from Quezon City in the Philippines. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and Religious Education.
He began his novitiate with us in May of 2013. He actually had experience with the Benedictine monks, but decided that a more active apostolate was better for him. Br. Harben is another good cook who often treats the priests and staff to some of his favorite dishes from the Philippines. He is also very talented in other ways. When he saw the used and worn altar the Sisters were using on Russian Island, he asked if he could take a look at it. Not long after that, the Sisters had a beautifully refinished altar for their chapel.
Br. Harben speaks Tagalog, Indonesian, English, and Russian.  He took temporary vows on May 9 of 2014, and is now studying Theology at the seminary in Tagaytay, Philippines.  Following ordination, he hopes to serve as a priest in Russia.
