Brother Ariel Acompañado, C.J.D.
Brother Ariel was born in 1993 on the 27th of January in Cebu, Philippines. Of the six kids in the family, he is the youngest. In our community he again gets that distinction. He is calm about it, maybe becoming more philosophical during his college studies of Philosophy. But hot blood begins to show itself when there are questions of Theology, because he is ready to defend his position to the last! We love him for his jealous guardianship of the Faith. We hope that he will keep his youthful convictions forever, and that he will become an honest and fiery preacher of the Good News.

Brother Mark Joseph Lorenzo, C.J.D.
Three saints in one name? It’s Mark Joseph Lorenzo! Brother Mark was born on the 16th of October 1990 in Quezon City. Two years later, the family transferred to Lucban, Quezon, a place that is well-known for its San Isidro Pahiyas Festival. This is held every year as a thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. He is the younger of the two children in his family. He and his brother were sent to a Catholic parochial school where the vocation for priesthood was planted in his very young heart. Twelve years later, the family moved to Majayjay, Laguna, a place where you can find one of the older churches in the Philippines. His name reflects on the person he is. Like St. Mark the evangelist and St. Joseph the worker, he tirelessly worked for the church and school. He was active in the parish for eight years in youth ministry especially in theater arts, student Catholic Action, and Focolare Movement. He had the chance to have an apostolate in Tarlac Diocesan Commission on Indigenous People, especially to the Aeta tribes in Mt. Pinatubo. Brother Mark got his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology. During his college years, he became the editor-in-chief of the school paper and later became president of the student body organization. He also played badminton and basketball. He loves to paint different scenes of nature on canvas. He enjoys camping and hiking too. Br. Mark speaks English, Filipino, and knows basic American Sign Language. What a talented man!

Brother Nikita Kushnaryev, C.J.D. is from Rostov-on-Don, the capital of the South Federal District of the Russian Federation. He is the only Russian Brother so far in the Canons Regular of Jesus the Lord. He was born on September 3, 1983 and has an older sister. He completed his Master of Theology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. He has worked as a bartender, barber and parish staff member. Brother Nikita’s hobbies are gardening, reading and listening to Baroque music. He is a very hard worker. He is currently taking driving lessons to assist the priests in their work. The Catholic Church in Russia is in need of priests, especially priests who are from Russia, because the harvest is great but the laborers are few. After his ordination, Brother Nikita will become a great help in evangelizing his fellow Russians and sharing God’s love with them.
Brother Dindo Calvo, C.J.D.

After a couple of years, he earned an Associate in Philosophical Studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, Italy. Brother Dindo loves to play basketball, football and table tennis. He speaks several foreign languages, such as English, Fijian and Italian. Benissimo! Молодец!

Brother Reminus Hambur, C.J.D. is polite, kind, and friendly. He also has the initiative and resourcefulness to do new and useful things. If someone has a problem, he is the first to work on it and find a solution. He also knows how to amuse people. He enjoys explaining what he knows, and he can work diligently at whatever job is at hand. He quietly observes his surroundings. He is from Manggarai, Flores Island, born in 1984, and spent some time in Pontianak, Borneo. He loves the Bible, and tells how his grandfather used to tell him the Bible stories when he was a boy, about Moses in Egypt, Joseph, Abraham and all those great figures. He attended the minor seminary, and then tried life as a monk, which didn’t satisfy him, as he wanted to go toward the priesthood. He got his Master’s Degree in Theology, and decided to join us because he is interested in working as a priest in Russia.
Brother Yakobus Hubertus, C.J.D., or “Brother Hubert” as we call him, is from Maumere, Indonesia. He was born on November 27, 1989. He is the youngest of four siblings, a sister and two brothers, all of whom are married. His father Ignatius Lengo is a city officer in Maumere. His mother Hensiana is a teacher. What can we say about Brother Hubert except that he is a very kind person, always smiling to everyone he meets. What doesn’t meet their eyes will surely meet their ears, as Brother Hubert is a pianist and composer. Now he is taking organ lessons. He wrote his own music for the Commons of the Mass, and everyone likes it. The music is very melodic and creative, so we are glad he has a strong vocation to be a priest, and hopefully his music will be useful in whatever country he will compose for. He wants to become a good servant of God, and we encourage him to continue toward that goal.
Brother Jacob David Branco, C.J.D. is from Dili in East Timor, but he grew up in Atambua in Indonesia. Maybe there isn’t an April Fools’ Day in Indonesia, but Brother David was born on April 1 in 1990, the second of five kids—two brothers and two sisters. He has finished his Philosophy degree in the St Paul’s Major Seminary in Maumere, Flores Island. His hobbies are musical classics and singing, so he always enjoys a sing-along and, really, any community activity is his cup of tea. Spiritually, he is a frequent prayer and enjoys any spiritual activity. He is also instantly available when anyone needs help. Maybe he should eat more, as he is on the thin side, but that doesn’t keep him from being the first to laugh at something funny.
